    Daily Inspiration: Meet Domeda & Duncan Mark Giles

    Founded in December 2021, OurSundays is a social impact organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals in Utah. We focus on fostering meaningful connections, providing enjoyable and unique experiences, and facilitating opportunities for personal growth and learning.

    Engen Museum and OurSundays Host Après Ski Night

    The Alf Engen Ski Museum and OurSundays Ski and Board Club are teaming up for a unique après ski experience, blending snow sports, art, and community. The club’s mission is to build community and foster a love for snow sports, and increase access for Black folks living in and visiting Utah.

    “Beyond the White,” depicts the story of the origins in 2023 of the OurSundays Club, whose mission is “building community and a passion for snow sports among people of color living in and visiting Utah.” The exhibit has an accompanying Spotify playlist titled “Slope Side 2025.”

    OurSundays hosted their Juneteenth Jubilee Day Party at Millcreek Common kicking off The third annual Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration to commemorate and celebrate the upcoming holiday on Wednesday, June 19.

    SLUG MAG: Juneteenth Jubilee Day Party

    While this is the first year of this event, we’re excited to see how it resonates with the community. New York-based DJ Chelsea Nettai will mix a host of sounds. EMK Kreations will create live art. The Juneteenth Jubilee Day Party is a collaborative 21+ event between OurSundays and Millcreek Common.

    Fostering A Lifelong Love of Skiing

    Learning to ski comes with many challenges, especially if your circle of family and friends did not grow up skiing. While not impossible, learning to ski as an adult can present additional hurdles. [Going being obstacles Alta and Ski Utah teamed up for a third season of the Discover Winter program.

    A big part of the history of skiing is the fellowship of ski clubs. And before you write it off as a thing of the past, meet the OurSundays Ski & Board Club. This started out to be a podcast on diversity…but it quickly became a celebration of why we all love to ski and ride

    Creating a Slice of Home with OurSundays

    Our Sundays originated back in 2021, bringing black communities the chance to engage and participate in fun experiences, that they may never have had the option of participating in before including karaoke, skiing and snowboarding, kickball, cookouts, bowling, camping trips and so much more.

    OurSunday & the National Brotherhood of Snowsports

    It all started exactly two years ago – December 2021. Domeda Duncan and Mark Giles, transplants to Utah and Co-Founders of OurSundays, wanted to have a holiday gathering for their network of relocated Black people calling Utah home at the time…this catapulted into a series of many experiences.

    Ski Utah’s Discover Winter program is partnering with groups like OurSundays to change that. Raelene Davis, Vice President of marketing and operations for Ski Utah, established Discover Winter in response to a growing movement to introduce BIPOC individuals to snow sports.

    OurSundays Ski and Board Club Join NBS

    OurSundays Ski and Board Club in Salt Lake City, UT has officially joined the National Brotherhood of Snowsports as part of the Rocky Mountain Region, the first chapter in Utah in over two decades, continuing the organization’s efforts in promoting diversity and representation in winter sports.

    We took it back to Fairmont Park for year two of “The Cookout.” With over 200+ people in attendance, we listened to live entertainment, played games from the table to the court to the grass and of course our food had the best sides!
